Sometimes it just takes a little gentle coaxing to try something new. Or maybe you already have certain preconceived notions.....or in this case, petite sirah is a little, unworthy bastard grape and you only drink cabernet sauvignon (or real syrah)! So many of you were absolutely dumbfounded when you tried last week's "headliner" at the tasting bar.....of all things! A Sierra Foothill petite sirah! "I never knew a petite sirah could taste like THAT!" And the phone has been ringing off the hook with reorders from the rest of you who decided to pick up a bottle to try over the weekend with your bbq. Even some of you trekked up to the winery to check it out and sample:

Hi,
Went up to the foothills for wine tasting this last weekend and made the stop into Mount Aukum (since we were in the neighborhood). Loved the Petite Sirah!! And, since you've got the better price, I'll place my order of 3 bottles with you.
Please advise on availability for pick-up this week or next.
Regards,

So here is one last opportunity for enlightenment, value and pure gustatory pleasure! We will pour it again this Saturday afternoon at the Tasting Bar, and my prices will hold through August 30th. Below is my tasting note from last week's e-mail. Oh, and some of you asked what kind of rating I would give this Mount Aukum Petite Sirah (not to be confused with the winery's Syrah). No hype! 92-94 points. At the moment I don't think there is a better wine of it's type out there for this price.

- If it's all about bigger is better! If size matters? This is the Black Hummer of red wines! Think of plump juicy wild blackberries! Add a dose of minerality from decomposed granite. A hint of "Good & Plenty" licorice candy. Smooth riding but with full throttle, muscular tannins. I don't care if you only drink Cabs (you'll swoon over this one)! Bring on the brontosaurus rack of ribs! Drink now for full guts, glory and because there's a lot of wine in this bottle that needs to get out!
Should be $25.95 - NOW! ONLY $21.50 ORDER AT LEAST SIX BOTTLES FOR ADDITIONAL 10% DISCOUNT > $19.35
