Having your cake and drinking it too!
September 22, 2006

Regretfully, I say that with a smile, your orders this week drained all of the distributor's 2003 Uccelliera Repace.  So with the wine being sold out, obviously I won't be able to feature it at the tasting bar tomorrow afternoon.

BIG NEWS from RED NECTAR'S Tammy Pffeiffer-Schutz in the Barossa Valley.  You will remember, we featured her 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz  in earlier in the month > http://www.thewineconsultant.com/newsletter/252 .  GOOD THING I just got my hands on some more of the Shiraz, because WINESTATE magazine (Highly reputed buyer guide for Australia and New Zealand wines) just announced in its September/October issue the 05 RED NECTAR SHIRAZ was the winner of "World's Greatest Shiraz Challenge" in the $25 to $30 price range category.  If you would like to order at $29.95 a bottle please REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL.  The Cabernet is also still available at $35.95.  BOTH wines will be poured again at the tasting bar this Saturday afternoon!

Many of you cult wine jockeys own or at least know of the Napa Valley's HUNDRED ACRE Cabernet Sauvignon produced by the charismatic Jayson Woodward.  If not, you might want to sign up for the "waiting list" > http://www.hundredacre.com  - Anyway, Jayson's Southern Australia - Barossa Shiraz project has just come into fruition with the release of a spectacular value, his 2005 "Layer Cake" Shiraz.  If RED NECTAR wins its price category, then this 100% Syrah is a shoe in at $15.95 a bottle!!!  - a beautiful delineation and purity of black raspberry and cassis fruit with all sorts of chocolate and spice!   ALSO will be available to sample at the tasting bar tomorrow from Noon to 4 pm.  Or order by just replying to this email.

Remember - Reservations at the tasting bar are not required.  A $10 tasting fee per person is waived with any in store puchase of at least $20.
This is a casual, fun tasting to help inform and broaden one's palate.  For complete tasting bar lineup go to http://www.thewineconsultant.com/tastingbar  (posted late every Friday afternoon).
