Bodegas Riojanas is in Cenicero, in the Rioja appellation. Founded in the late 19th century by the Artacho and Carreras families, the winery went public in 1997 and today is the umbrella company for a number of Spanish and European wine producers. The company owns about 750 acres of vineyards in Rioja. This Gran Reserva is 100% Tempranillo. Classical vinification with destemmed, crushed grapes using the latest fermentation technology and a long maceration period. Aged for 24-30 months in American oak casks. Very traditional style just coming into full bloom with emerging ripe, dried plum fruit, earthy and exotic spices. No ratings yet.
