Perfect choice for your holiday group entertaining, or gift giving to your friends who help you daily; postal worker, hair stylist, delivery driver, pool guy, favorite clerks, kid’s teacher, etc.
We tasted a perfectly fine sample bottles of each of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir before we purchased. We found both of the wines to be delicious values…..fundamentally sound. No flaws. They are not polarizing or WoW factor wines……kind of “tweeners”…..that is, everyone is going to like them (if they like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) whether it’s for “cocktail” or with food. We are really trying to get people to visit the tasting bar and try for themselves ….. which is the safest bet! The Chardonnay is slightly oaked…..fruit (hints of pineapple and pear) is still fresh and delicious, dry and medium bodied…not overdone. Easy and casual drinking! These really are at “close out” prices….two brothers who own the well known Folkway label…..this was their Santa Lucia Highlands project. Anyway, they simply decided after about 15 years that was enough of the wine business. The two are dissolving the partnership, but will remain brothers (humor attempt!). Both wines had a wholesale cost of $16 a bottle…….we lowered the Chardonnay’s price slightly because we have ten cases only to sell as opposed to 5 cases of the Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir has aromas and flavors of red cherries….again easy drinking…..just think value!!! We feel lucky to have had the opportunity to purchase the amounts we secured.
From the winery –

OVER AND OUT IS RIGHT! This is an extraordinary value in Chardonnay from the “Folkway” brothers-partnership. Priced at $24 a bottle – The partnership is saying quits and leaving the wine business! NOW $14.95
Stainless steel primary fermentation while the malolactic fermentation takes place in new and used French oak barrels where the wine is matured for 10 months. That’s all we know, and all we can tell, you except this is a mature and delicious value and priced to sell!!!
