Description

The Bel-Armes is an extremely limited production from a one hectare parcel planted on limestone terraced slopes just below the Cap Canaille escarpement and bordered by the ocean.  Intended to emulate the ancient practice of amphora aging, the wine is fermented and aged on its lees in a concrete egg for six month.  This extremely full bodied blend is 65% Marsanne, 15% Clairette, 15% Ugni Blanc, and 5% Bourboulenc from vines averaging 40 years old.

Cassis Blanc “Bel-Arme”:
• Vines planted on the terraced slope, below the Cap Canaille
• All grapes are de-stemmed and crushed before pressing
• Juice is delivered by gravity to a temperature-controlled stainless steel cuve
• The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation
• Wine is fermented and aged in concrete egg
• Aged in egg for 6 months on fine lees with bâtonnage once a week
• Wine is bottle unfined and unfiltered
