The name “Fattoria La Rivolta” is derived from the ancient name given to the neighborhood by the longobardians during a period of revolution (rivolta) between the local farmers and the feudal landowners.
Fattoria La Rivolta is considered among the finest quality-minded estates in the Benevento area in the heart of the D.O.C Taburno of Campania. The family has renovated the old wine cellar using state of the art equipment. Part of the wine cellar is located within an ancient stone building that dates back to the end of the 18th century
Proprietor Paolo Cotraneo comes from a pharmaceutical background and today farms 29 hectares of vines. The estate was founded in 1997. Vineyards are located from 300 to 500 meters above sea level with east and southeast exposures. The soils are primarily clay limestone. The estate’s main cru is called Torrecuso.
This singular varietal wine is produced from hand picked Greco di Tufo grapes harvested in early October. The wine is cold fermented in stainless steel tanks .
“Bright golden yellow. Chewy, rich and dense, featuring nicely focused apricot and peach flavors. Finishes long, ripe and tactile, with a polished mouthfeel and noteworthy complexity. One of the three best Greco wines of the year.”
