Once again we have found an absolute gem! Yes, another remarkable value of Cabernet Franc from the Isonzo region in the very most southeastern corner of Friuli in northeastern Italy.
The Luisa Cabernet Franc has been produced for almost 40 years. The grapes are grown in the gravelly soils of Mariano del Friuli in Corona. 100% Cabernet Franc. Stainless steel fermentation and then the wine is rested in tank for 8 months (5 months sur lie).
Deep ruby red color. Spicy, herb tinged, black raspberry and cigar-cured tobacco
leaf. On the palate, intense and full-bodied, fresh and linear, well balanced with a long
pleasant peppery finish and a soft well knit tannins.
Very versatile to enjoy with spicy food, or cured meats. Or perfect with game sausage or a grilled burger.
