The Ronchi di Manzano winery was established in 1969, but its vineyards have an ancient tradition of centuries. Everything started with the Counts of Trento, who had a special predilection for the Ronchi di Manzano, both for its location and for its soil composition; marl and sandstone flysch of Eocene origin “ponca”. Its vineyards were considered to be some of the best in the whole area and they were very requested by French and Savoy noblemen.
Hand harvested, destemmed and placed into very large 15 HL French oak barrique, where the grapes macerated on the skins for 4 months. Then the skins are removed by hand and the wine continues to age in barrel until bottling.
Minerality, apricots and citrus blossoms on the nose. Amazing on entry, chewy, vibrant, explosive, tension with tight rope like acidity. Flavors of blood orange, tangerine, white plum and sage. This is a pure, focused and balanced wine. Delicious!
