“Very elegant and Burgundian in profile, featuring supple notes of glazed peach, lemon curd and pineapple, accented by white blossom, honey cream and spice undertones through the mineral-tinged finish. Harmonious and complex. Drink now through 2025.100 cases imported” —G.S. – 93 points, Wine Spectator (March 2019)
“The 2017 Guru is a field blend from old vines, mostly Viosinho, Rabigato, Códega do Larinho and Gouveio, aged for seven months in 90% used French oak. It comes in at 12.5% alcohol. Bottled just about ten days before tasting, this does have a touch of the wood and flint that is sometimes too obvious when this is young, but it also has the gorgeous structure that this bottling has consistently showed of late, far more than in the old days. Tight, focused, concentrated and capable of being much better next year, I’m still giving this a range for a score because it is so recently in bottle and a little disjointed. It looks like a big winner, though. It looks like it will age very well too, as the newer bottlings in particular seem likely to do. It’s time to expand the drinking windows on these. 2018 – 2032.” – 92-94 points, Wine Advocate (Mark Squires) August 2018
