The estate was created in 1969 and now extends to 40 hectares of vineyard spread through the Mediterranean garrigue. It is run by Marc Cabrol, who combines winegrowing with selling agricultural machinery. The French grape varietal Rolle is known as Vermentino in Italy. The Rolle vines are clustered on slopes of red earth covered with heat reflecting pebbles. The grapes are gently bladder pressed pneumatically just 45 minutes after picking, and then fermented in stainless steel with a controlled minimum temperature to preserve the freshness. The result is a crisp, dry, minerally white wine with a hint of brininess on the finish. Gold Medal Paris 2003 for the 2002 vintage. The 2005 Vintage was awarded a Silver Medal at the Concours Nationale in Paris. This is another value gem! Perfect with shellfish or grilled sardines.
