With the extremely limited signature Bocio always difficult to obtain, and the Riserva not yet being imported into the US market, this remarkable "third tier" wine in Boscarelli's porfolio shows off why this Montepulicano producer is considered the finest garage producer of Vino Nobilo (Grosso Sangiovese) in the area.

We visited with Nicolo de Ferrari at his family's vineyards and winery when we visited the region in April 2010. This expression of Sangiovese is as fine as any produced in the Chianti Classico zone, and competes favorably with the more expensive wines from Montalcino. We have a full court press on the winery and importer to import a small quantity of the brilliant tour de force 07 Riserva. STAY TUNED!!

The 2009 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a beautiful, sexy red laced with perfumed fruit, dried flowers, menthol and hints of licorice, all of which seem to float on the palate with remarkable grace.
