Rumors of the Etruscans buzz throughout the vineyards, but evidence proves Il Borro dates back to 1254, when the Mscagni family purchased the castle of Il Borro and the surrounding land. Ownership has changed many times, seeing royalty and the ambitious roam its halls. In 1993 Ferruccio Ferragamo purchased the 2700 acre estate, and his son Salvatore now leads as CEO.

If you don’t recognize the connection, in charge is Salvatore Ferragamo of the famous and iconic Tuscan family best known for its fashionista shoes and accessories.  Salvatore has re-created the Il Borro property to Chateaux & Relais status for its refined and elegant hospitality, luxury-spa accommodations, Michelin dining and outdoor recreation.  Just how good can you imagine the wines!!!

The winery ambitiously set out to craft a sparkling rosé employing the traditional methode champenoise.  “Bolle di Borro”, or “Bubble of Borro” is 100% Sangiovese, native to the land and enmeshed with its properties, and displays captivating fresh aromas, balanced acidity and low sugar content.  With extended ageing on the lees, there is nothing quite like it.   Sustainability: Certified Organic, Biodynamic In Practice.  Total class and elegance abound.
