When is the brick and mortar store at 8039 Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights open?

We keep regular store hours from Wednesday thru Saturday from 11am to 5pm”.  You may also make a private appointment with us for consultation.

When will the Saturday Tasting Bar resume service?

The honest answer is we just don’t know. With the current Covid-19 situation, and our small space, it is better for all concern to not resume service at this time. Reservations would need to be required and pre-paid. For social distancing, we would need to limit service just 6 customers per hour. Cost would need to be increased. All not very conducive to what made Saturday afternoons here so much fun.

What about your special promotional events, dinners and parties?

We still want to hold special events and wine dinners, but they are not possible at this time.

What about wine education and tasting appreciation?

We are considering a series of tasting seminars with different themes and topics. These tasting programs would

be held Saturdays before or after closing. Reservations would be required and pre-paid. Please let us know if you are interested!

What is the best way to know what wines are currently in stock?

Become familiar with our website. Monitor the New Arrivals page which lists 24 wines and is updated weekly. Search the 12 different categories listed. Click on each wine entry to open page for background and tasting notes/ratings. TIP! Use the search tool in upper left hand corner!

What if your store does not carry my favorite wine?

Trust me, we can special order just about any wine you want. If a restaurant or retail chain stocks it, we can order it and most likely beat any price. Save on shipping! Special discounts for case purchases. Let us be your shopper.

How do you make your wine selections for the store?

Samples, samples, samples! 95% of every wine we stock is pre-determined by our personal assessment. The exceptions are based on our previous experience with the wine and its track record. With the pandemic we stopped taking in-store appointments with the distributors, brokers, importers and wineries. However, we continue to receive sample bottles and vials to taste. In fact we are presently backlogged. We know, it’s tough work but somebody has to do it.

How does one order?

We removed the “shopping cart”, that is, the e-commerce from our webstore because we want to encourage a personal relationship with you. Everyone has a different palate, and we want to be certain you are purchasing a wine that will meet your expectations. To order, just give us a phone call at 916 721-WINE (9463) or email us at info@thewineconsultant.com. ALL invoiced orders must be secured by a valid credit card (Visa, MC or Discover).

What about shipping in California and out-of-state?

Of course we ship everywhere in California NEXT DAY via of GLS. Our focus is on the western states, but we can arrange delivery almost anywhere except UTAH and Hawaii. Adult signature required at time of delivery. Just ASK!

Do you have a local delivery service?

Yes, we use an independent courier service. Just let us know the day before so we can schedule. Cost to downtown Sacramento or Granite Bay is just $11 for up to one case. And just another dollar for each additional case. If you are local to the Fair Oaks area, if possible we will personally deliver free.

Do you store wine?

Please, we ask of you to pick up your wine orders timely, or arrange for delivery. We have limited space and are not in the wine storage business. Your purchased wine is not our responsibility, and we are not liable for any kind of loss, damage or theft. Btw – during the summer months we keep the temperature inside the store at 66 degrees. Our August SMUD bill was over $350.
