Tenuta di Tavignano is in the area of Cingoli (province of Macerata). The property is on hills that dominate the valleys of the Esino and Musone rivers, on one side one can see the San Vicino mountain and on the other side the Adriatic sea and the Conero Riviera. The vineyards stand in the heart of the “Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico” and of the “Rosso Piceno DOC ” appellations.
The Misco vineyard sits atop a hilly knoll with a southeastern exposure on three hectares of calcareous soils. The Misco Reserve represents the last and ripest Verdicchio picked in the harvest. 100% varietal, the wine is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tank. There the wine rests on the lees for 12 months without battonage. Then the wine is matured in bottle another 18 months before release. About 6,000 bottles are produced in the best vintages.
Decanter magazine – 95 points: “A sophisticated wine aged in stainless steel, then in bottle. It has juicy freshness of nectarine and peach fruits, and touches of mint and saffron. Long finish.”
