2017 Ermete Medici & Figli Reggiano Lambrusco Concerto, Emilia Romagna, Italy
Concerto is the world’s first single vineyard vintage Lambrusco, and with such an amazing track record (9 consecutive vintages garnering the coveted Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri award), it is one of the finest and most prestigious produced. A sparkling dry red wine, its lively bubbles are achieved through natural fermentation. Grapes from the prestigious Tenuta La Rampata vineyard in Reggio Emilia province are grown on Cordone Speronato (cordon trained and spur pruned) vines in clay soil with highly limited yields. The wine is best served at a temperature of 57 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit. 11.5% alcohol.
We sold this wine in March of 2019, but just discovered a cache of 22 six packs resting peacefully in the back of a distributor’s warehouse. Outrageous for those who like to “chill” with red wine during the hot summer months. Traditional with cured meats and salumi, hard cheeses, and other assorted savory antipasti.

“Dried blueberries, cassis, citrus and spices. This has good focus on the palate with a fine line of bubbles, direct acidity and a bright finish. Drink now.” – 91 points (November 25, 2018) – James Suckling
“Intensely brilliant and pure in both its ruby red color and aromatics, the wine shows a fresh strawberry, raspberry and cherry character. On the palate, dry yet fruity, round, fresh and lively notes are delectably harmonious. Acidity and tannins are perfectly balanced and the finish is clean.”
