The 2021 Burn Cottage “Moonlight Race” Pinot Noir combines fruit from both of its highly esteemed estate Cottage Vineyard (Lowdown) and estate Sauvage Vineyard (Bannockburn).  The Moonlight Race particularly over delivers for the money considering Burn Cottage’s single designated vineyard Pinot Noir are $75+ a bottle and consistently receive very high ratings!!  Only about 350 cases were imported for the US market.

Since conception in 2002, Ted Lemon consults throughout the growing season, and flies over to NZ periodically to monitor the vineyards and and consultant with the winemaking team.  Totaling 24 acres, the biodynamically farmed property is owned by the Sauvage brothers of Kansas state, who are distributors of fine wine, and who also own Koehler-Ruprecht estate in the Pfatz region of Germany.
