Description

Situated in the heart of the Cote des Bar (Aube region) and built by the Marquis de Dampierre in the 15th Century, Chateau de Bligny is the only Chateau to benefit from the title of Chateau in the Champagne region as a “Grower Producer”.  It’s reputation has grown throughout the years, but especially after a renaissance in 1999 when it was acquired by the Rapeneau family. 

30 hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (8 plots) are farmed, and the only source for the Estate’s cuvees. 

Winemaker Notes: Composed equally of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the notes are autumnal and then turns to the yellow stone fruits. The mouth has a broad texture, very fleshy fruit, coupled with a natural richness. The yellow fruit is very colorful and the moist density increases at the finish where there is very fine acidity.  12% alcohol.
