Description
In 2018 Ridge first produced a small amount of Grenache Blanc from the Adelaida Vineyard. Impressed with the balance of minerality, firm acidity, and subtle stone fruit, the winery continues to now source grenache blanc, picpoul and roussanne from three vineyards on the west side of Paso Robles; Adelaide, Fossil Creek and Halter Ranch. After whole cluster pressing, the wine was aged for eight months in five year old barrels and bottled early to preserve fresness. Delicious now, it will develop fully over five years.
Decanter.com: 94 Points “Aged in stainless steel, neutral oak, concrete, and amphora, this results in a remarkably bright, saline-driven example. This Paso Robles bottling comes from three different vineyards. Taut freshness, the limestone soils definitely play a role, says John Olney. Savoury herbals and plenty of mineral lift. Fresh citrus and smoky, flinty stone notes persist throughout the finish in this Rhône white, focused on the purity of fruit.” – Clive Pursehouse (August 2025)
The 2024 is a blend of 85% Grenache Blanc, 12% Picpoul, 3% Roussanne. The alcohol is 13.4%. pH 3.14. TA 1.4 g/l
