Description
This is a complex terroir, oriented northwest, made up of small patches of vineyards surrounded by scrublands of pine trees, wild thyme and rosemary, on which grow the 4 varietals of the domaine. Les Fontanilles is a cuvee that combines maturity and freshness and offers a bouquet of red and black fruits, and peppery spices. This wine goes particularly well with grilled meats and bbq. A vibrant wine.
“Crafted from vines planted on sandstone, marl and limestone soils, the 2022 Minervois Les Fontanilles, a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault, evokes aromas of dark berries, spices, Provence herbs, licorice and pencil lead. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, it’s perfectly balanced, with sweet tannins and concluding with a long, spicy and mineral finish. Matured in equal parts stainless steel and barrels, this is a really nice wine that can improve with 3-5 years in the cellar.” – 92 points, Wine Advocate
