These wines were getting lost in the regional expression, and with the Fifths, these sites come together to tell a new story.

The name is a nod to music theory’s circle of fifths – a sequence of perfect intervals used to build harmony. It also reflects our roots: Giant Steps was named after John Coltrane’s groundbreaking jazz album, and this release continues that spirit of creative progression.

“This is juicy up front, with generous notes of plum, cherry and blueberry, but the savory, umami thread of porcini, loamy earth and hinoki accents is what sets this wine apart. Herbal details of sage, bay leaf and palo santo, along with malty Assam, leave a strong impression on the finish, where the tannins firm up slightly.
