Description

“Perfumed wine with citrus and minerality, forthright, intense and focused. Medium-bodied, vibrant and savory, it displays super-cool freshness and weight, with a polished finish. One of the top Italian whites for quality-per-price ratio.”  95 – James Suckling

“In a screw-cap bottle, the organic Pieropan 2024 Soave Classico is a favorite bottle from Northern Italy for very good reason. This simple expression of Garganega (blended with 15% Trebbiano di Soave for extra richness) offers nice freshness, mineral tones and sweet primary fruit that recalls freshly cut apple and white peach. This was not an easy vintage by any stretch, but this white wine comes out fighting. The Pieropan family does a terrific job with this entry-level release of 560,000 bottles. The grapes are sourced over 60 hectares on volcanic soils, and the wine sees a brief five to six months in cement tank. The process is simple and easy, and the wine is delicious.”  92 – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Nectarine, white blossom, pickled ginger and fresh tarragon notes play on the lightly chalky finish. Garganega  and Trebbiano. loaded with zesty tangerine and pink grapefruit flavors, this is light on its feet and well-knit. Drink now through 2031.” – 91 points, Wine Spectator

Hand-picking, starting from mid-September for the Trebbiano di Soave (15%)  and from October for the Garganega (85%).  The grapes are destemmed and gently crushed with a pneumatic press in nitrogen saturation. Free run juice is fermented at low temperatures (between 14-18°C) in glass-lined concrete tanks.
The wine remains in glass-lined concrete tanks on its fine lees for a period which varies according to the vintage, usually about 5-9 months. The wine bottled is released after – at least – a further month in bottle.

Color: Brilliant pale lemon color

Aroma: The nose is delicate, with reminiscent aromas of almond blossoms and marzipan. Fresh and floral
with hints of vine, cherry and elder flowers, and of fresh fruit such as pear and white peach.

Palate: Smooth, with good fruit concentration, nicely balanced by a zesty acidity that enhances its long finish.
