Description

Champagne Fluteau is a pioneering, family-owned grower-producer winery established in 1935, located in Gyé-sur-Seine within the southern Côte des Bars (Aube) region of Champagne. Currently run by Thierry, Jennifer, and their son Jeremy Fluteau (representing the 4th generation), the estate manages 9 hectares of sustainably-farmed vines certified under France’s High Environmental Value (HVE) standard.
Unlike larger houses that buy grapes, Fluteau produces small-quantity, estate-grown champagnes crafted entirely on-site—from pressing to labeling—focusing heavily on the rich, terroir-driven expressions of Pinot Noir grown on local Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils.  Look for “RM” (Récoltant-Manipulant) on the back label to assure the selection is truly a “grower-producer” of what we call “Farm Fizz”.  And guarantees at least 95% of the fruit is estate grown.
Fluteau balances time-honored traditions with modern vinification techniques. Their wines are highly regarded for showcasing ripe orchard fruit, low-dosage freshness, and expressive salinity.
Écho Extra Brut: The estate’s crisp, vibrant signature blend. It is primarily Pinot Noir (85%) seasoned with a touch of Chardonnay (15%), yielding bright citrus and balanced minerality.  Alcoholic fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel vats, malolactic fermentation completed, cold stabilizing filtered.  Bottled in 2022 with 70% from that year’s harvest and 30% reserve wine from 2018. —   On the lees for at least 30 months before disgorgement.  Dosage at 5 g/L.   12.4 alcohol.
