Description

Although the Esmonin parcels in Mazy-Chambertin and Ruchottes-Chambertin parcels are not far apart, the wines which these parcels produce are remarkably distinct. Esmonin’s site in Mazy is close to Chambertin-Clos de Bèze and produces a bigger, more masculine wine, while their outstanding Ruchottes is very refined, with its sleek lines and fine tannins.  The Mazy and Ruchottes are truly special and I firmly believe these are the two best examples of these wines Esmonin has ever produced.  Extremely limited in the US market.

The Mazy – “Bright cherry and berry fruit introduces this elegant red, along with floral, mineral and a hint of earth notes. It’s sleek and tensile, with superb balance and poise. The cherry and strawberry theme continues through the long finish. Best from 2024 through 2045.” – 95 points, Wine Spectator – 75 cases imported. — BS (May 2021)
